Unison Teams Help Power Artemis II’s Successful Journey Back to the Moon

April 10, 2026 | by Michelle Becker

Jacksonville, FL – April 10, 2026 – From spark to splashdown, Unison teammates in Norwich, NY, and Jacksonville, FL, helped power a new chapter in human space exploration. Their flight marks another giant leap toward a sustained human presence on and around the Moon, and eventually Mars.

Artemis II carried its crew farther than any astronauts have traveled in more than half a century, testing Orion’s life support, navigation, and communication systems on a path around the Moon. For millions watching around the world, the mission turned the Moon from a distant backdrop into a destination again—one illuminated by the work of thousands of people on the ground.

Among them: the Unison teams whose ignition systems helped bring the launch vehicle to life. Partnering with Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies company, Unison provided critical ignition hardware for the RS‑25 and RL10 rocket engines. That hardware includes Spark Exciter Assemblies on the core stage, along with a Dual Direct Spark Ignition system on the upper stage.

Along the Florida coast, curious visitors, families, and lifelong space enthusiasts watched shoulder to shoulder with people who have devoted their careers to spaceflight. Behind that shared moment of awe stood thousands of engineers, scientists, technicians, and mission teams whose work made the mission possible.

Unison is proud to be one of those teams, trusted to help deliver that first light. and they are already focused on what it will take for the missions that follow. Unison teammates in Norwich, NY, and Jacksonville, FL, are supporting Artemis II and the journeys ahead.

At Unison, we’re helping shape aerospace’s next great era. It is an era defined by advancement, innovation, and teamwork, brought to life in moments like this, when years of effort come together in a single launch, a single spark, and a shared look up at the sky.
