In 2005, Unison acquired Aircraft Parts Corp. (APC), supplier of starter-generators for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft used in corporate/business, commuter, military, law enforcement and special mission aviation applications, since 1961. Our product line has continuously evolved as the industry transitioned from piston to turbine engines and from analog to digital. Now under Unison, our full range of products covers the entire DC power distribution system.

Many years ago, the phrase "long life brush" was coined. These long life brushes not only increased the brush life of our starter-generators, they also extended the brush life of other manufacturer's starter-generators. When first introduced, our "XL" starter-generators series offered extended no-touch TBO's, to greater than 1000 hours for some aircraft installations, and many in the industry are still trying to catch up! Today, with the introduction of our new XL2 brush system, our "XL" series of starter-generators are approaching a no-touch TBO of up to 2000 hours on some aircraft.
