Woodward selects Unison's sensors for military turbine engine fuel metering unit

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 6, 2006 - Unison Industries today announced that it has been selected by Woodward (Nasdaq: WGOV) headquartered in Rockford, Ill., to provide three types of speed and temperature sensors for the US Army T700-GE-701D turbine engine fuel metering unit (FMU).

The GE T700 engine series is widely used in powering 21 types of rotary and fixed-wing aircraft, including the Apache, Black Hawk and Marine Super Cobra helicopters. The T700-GE-701D is a recent series upgrade differentiated by new fuel controls and a Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) system.

Unison's sensor technology will be used to support these high-altitude, high-performance military aircraft powered by the T700-GE-701D engine. The fuel sensors are designed to effectively measure fuel temperature in the fuel delivery system and withstand the fuel pressure at elevated temperatures. The dual channel speed sensor provides rotational speed of the engine core and will be integrated with the fuel metering unit. Finally, the air inlet sensor will precisely measure inlet air temperature.

"Unison's sensors provide us with the ability to continually monitor the fuel control system and engine performance on some of the military's key aircraft," said John Foti, T700-GE-701D FMU development program manager at Woodward. "The information they deliver will help us reduce the cost of maintaining these engines and ensure their long-term reliability and safety in combat."

Manufacturing will take place at Unison's Jacksonville, Fla., and Norwich, N.Y., facilities, with production deliveries anticipated in 2008.
