Aircelle selects Unison systems for nacelles of Russian Regional Jet

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 17, 2006 - Unison Industries today announced that it has been selected by Aircelle, SAFRAN Group to build several systems to power its SaM 146 engine, which will be used for Sukhoi Civilian Aircraft's (SCA) new Russian Regional Jet. Under the agreement, Unison will deliver over 1,000 sets to Aircelle worth more than $20 million over the duration of the 10-year agreement.

Unison offers a combination of electrical and mechanical systems experience to design, build and integrate all four elements of the contract. This includes engine build-up (EBU) nacelle harnesses and mounting brackets, fire detection brackets, and thrust reverser harnesses.

"This contract win highlights our capability as a total solution provider for our customers' engine nacelle needs," said Mike Sanders, vice president of engineering for Unison Industries. "We are confident our company's high-performing systems will provide the quality, durability and cost-savings that Aircelle, SAFRAN Group expects."

Unison's design team is based in France to coordinate directly with the customer, with additional engineering and manufacturing support based out of its Dayton, Ohio, Jacksonville, Fla. and Saltillo, Mexico facilities. Deliveries are anticipated at the end of 2006.

"Our selection by Aircelle, SAFRAN Group is a testament to our growing European presence," said Naresh Narayan, Unison's Paris-based European business development manager. "We have been serving European customers for years, and by expanding our on-site capabilities, we are able to be even more responsive to our customers' needs."

Aircelle, SAFRAN Group's order is the second contract Unison has been awarded on the SaM 146. In late 2005, the company was selected to develop ignition systems for Hispano-Suiza, another SAFRAN Group member.
