Bell Selects APC Starter-Generators for New Light Helicopters
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, March 15, 2006--
Unison Industries today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Aircraft Parts Corp. (APC), has been selected by Bell Helicopter to provide starter-generators for the Bell 417 Single and 429 Light Twin helicopters. The contracts have a potential value of more than $6 million over the 10-year life of the programs.
Using its patented "long life brush" technology, APC will supply upgraded 150 and 200 amp starter-generators to Bell, which boast high power output, advanced design, and proven reliability.
"APC has been a valued supplier to Bell Helicopter for more than 30 years," said Bill Stromberg, Executive Director of Commercial Program Management and program manager for Bell's 429. "We are confident the company's high performing starter-generators will add power, save cost and extend the life span of our next generation light twin helicopter."
Manufacturing will take place at APC's Holtsville, N.Y., facility, with deliveries anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2006. First flight is anticipated in the third quarter of 2006.
