Unison's new solid state exciter made aviation history last week with successfully lighting off the LEAP-1A engine on the GE Flying Test Bed (FTB) aircraft in Victorville, CA. Both ground and in air starts were performed, side by side with a legacy spark gap unit. Our successful performance on LEAP, being developed by CFM International, the 50/50 joint company of GE and Snecma (Safran), is a catalyst for vertical integration solid state growth.
Unison was featured in the September/October issue of Manufacturing Today as an industry leader that brings advanced products to aircraft engines. Read more at http://www.manufacturing-today.com/index.php/sections/profiles1/1207-unison-industries

Isn't it nice to know you can still have select products Design Engineered, Manufactured and TESTED inside the same facility?
Unison efficiently delivers on product design, development, manufacturing & testing! Our Test Lab Engineers and Technicians, located within the Jacksonville, Florida and Norwich, New York plants, work alongside Engineering and Manufacturing teams to test and certify all our products designed and built in each plant.
At Unison, reliability is not a calculated handbook value. It's an integral part of our rigorous design and development process, so our products are highly reliable right when they hit the field, not after the customer has debugged them thru service experience.
Unison demonstrates and reveals its plans for the future of aviation at the 50th International Paris Airshow from June 17 - 23, 2013. The booth will be located in Hall 3, B132.
Unison uses customer interactions to serve as the customers' voice, resolve issues, respond to technical inquiries, influence new designs, and initiate product upgrades.
Unison can provide custom solutions that ensure a great harness fit on every engine. Every time. From routing consults with our design teams as part of development, to adjustment hardware that ensures you can make adjustments on any engine at any time...Unison is making sure that our harnesses fit well every time. You can count on it!
Our unique low ice accretion designs for T1, T1.2, T2 and T2.5 are optimized for low recovery error over the full range of mass flows, temperatures, and angle of attack. And we can prove it.
Our in-house low and high flow wind tunnels and rapid prototype manufacturing capability allow us to validate our analytical and design approaches over the range of engine and aircraft flow conditions.
With performance like this, engines can operate optimally, over the full range of input temperature and flow conditions.
What if you could get improved installation control, repairability with durability, and a lower weight?
Unison has what you need today with Harness Locators, durable braided wiring bundles with replaceable connectors, non-metal backshells that reduce weight without compromising shielding effectiveness, and integrated sensors that are also replaceable while preserving the harness for continued use.
Unison is developing advanced motor and generator controls in the 125KW power generation project that enhance its existing product line of niche Permanent Magnet (PM) machines. This effort focuses on high speed (>50,000rpm) micro-turbine and low speed (<5000rpm) harsh environment land based applications that PM machines are well suited for.
Unison is unique in that research, engineering, development, testing, and manufacturing are housed in one facility, with a pedigree that reaches back to the first jet engines in the 1940's. Vertical integration of the key components in capacitive discharge ignition exciters allows ultimate flexibility in design and allows Unison to control the design and availability of product and tailor designs for the best combination of weight, reliability, and performance. And, the deep expertise that comes from being part of the process from cradle to grave makes Unison a place where great INNOVATION is constantly happening.
What if you could get improved installation control, repairability that doesn't ask you to sacrifice durability, AND a lower weight?
Unison has what you need today with patented harness locators, durable braided wiring bundles with replaceable connectors, non-metal backshells that reduce weight without compromising shielding effectiveness, and integrated sensor solutions that are also replaceable, while preserving the harness for continued use.
Imagine a future with us!
Until recently, solid state ignition exciters have been limited to -55°C to 121°C temperature environments for high reliability operation and performance. Although the low temperature excursions are stressful on some of the electrical components, the high temperature extreme was the limiting factor for solid state switching circuitry capable of delivering the 1000's of amps of current used for the ignition energy delivered to the igniter plug within the engine combustor.
